Divide between architects and developers Article from 'Andy Schneider'
I found this article is enjoyable and recalling my past experience. Some highlights of the article..
Architects should remain engaged throughout a project, not just in the formative stages.
Architects often see the development community as too tactical and their vision as too narrow.
And he summarized as follows:
- Not valuing the other's point of view
- Not empathizing with the other's position
- Not seeking common ground
- Not bridging the language gap

Is Microsoft applications are well designed ? My first consultant experience..
I got the opportunity to work as a .NET consultant in a UK based company on a Reporting Product. I worked for sometime in this product and tried to improve the code and architecture of the product as much as possible. But unfortunately I could not make it up to the expectations since the product is live and hectic deadlines.
The reasons ..
- The product/Project is started by inexperienced people and is not architected well.
- Technology is new and keep on changing and no expertise when starting the product
- And few companies are not interested to invest in training (***)
- Background of the Developers is COM based
- Most of the developers supporting a company's IT software infrastructure are task-oriented; get it done so long as "it works."
Disinterested Programmers
Why .NET developers don't grok advanced stuff
Why don't .NET developers grok scalable distributed computing?
And I think the end user companies should adopt to a proper Development environment model and should give some training to make a better solution.

Which New Browser Is Best: Firefox 2, Internet Explorer 7, or Opera 9?
Sometime ago I stopped using IE except for ASP.NET applications. I switched to Mozilla firefox, since it comes with tabbbed interface and easy to use. Now IE 7 (beta) also comes with tabbed interface for the IE Lovers with lot more security features.
ExtremTech written up the most comparision about the latest three browsers.
Users will get some benefits if they upgrade to any one of these browsers.
